Sunshine Coast Discus (SCD) is owned and operated by Nigel Basson and his immediate family. Being based on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland (one hours drive North of Brisbane) they are blessed with very soft water which is perfect for breeding quality Discus. The Queensland climate also brings with it many bonuses, it’s a great place live and to do what they love doing, keeping and breeding Discus.

They have the philosophy that quality is far more important than quantity and although the breeding facility is small compared to some the quality of their fish is up there with the best of them anywhere in the world. They are dedicated to excellence and only sell fish that they would be prepared to buy themselves with one of their main goals to be continually improving every aspect of keeping and breeding Discus.

There are currently 15 breeding pairs of Discus comprising many different and popular strains. The vast majority of their breeding stock were imported as juveniles from Mr. Roy Khoo, one of the leading breeders in the World and based in Singapore.
